An Opportunity to try the Traditional Guiding skill of cooking over a wood fire
Guidance, tips and help will be available on the day.
This activity is for Leaders with a small group of Guides or Senior Section
(A Consent Form is required for anyone under 18yrs)
or
Leaders can come without girls and develop their own skills.
You will need the following:
Ingredients for a simple meal. eg. pasta, vegetables and sauce or you can be more imaginative
Matches or Lighter (Fire Lighters are also allowed)
Cutlery, unbreakable crockery, cooking utensils, billies and/or frying pan as required
Oven mitts, washing up bowl, liquid, scourer, cloths etc
Chairs and a folding table or large tray for the group
Wood to burn. (Supplies at Somermead are limited)
Grid or rack and bricks for fire
Fire Blanket
If you do not have all these do ask around in your District/Division.
We have a limited amount of equipment for loan. First come, first served. Please request items when you apply.
