Study Visit - Oman 2009

 

WHAT IS IT?

This is the 3rd study tour by the UK-Arab Region Scout Fellowship. Previous visits were to Egypt (2005) and Tunisia (2007).  The visit will be a mix of cultural visits and visits to scout/guide groups in various centres. These visits will be led by local leaders throughout the duration of the tour.

 

WHERE TO?

The Sultanate of Oman 

 

WHEN IS IT?

Saturday 24th October to Sunday 1st November 2009 (arrival back into UK may be early hours Monday 2nd November depending on flights).

 

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

Between £500 - £600 (provisional costing) which includes international air fare (London-Muscat return) and most meals. Local accommodation & transport is being provided free of charge by the Oman Scouts & Guides and we will be staying in training centres operated by them.

 

WHY? – To improve an understanding of scouting/guiding in the Arab Region and to foster links for future joint activities.

 

WHO CAN GO? – Any active member of Scouting or Girlguiding. We are looking for a group of between 12 to 16 adults from all sections and of all ages (minimum age of 18).

Membership of the UK-Arab Region Fellowship is not a pre-requisite, but will be subsequently expected for all selected participants (annual subscription £10).

If the trip is oversubscribed then a selection procedure will be necessary.
