We are pleased that the Chocolate Mud Camp in February at Somermead is now full – so all that are going - we hope you have a great time. Don’t forget to send us some pictures of the event!

Our District and Division Commissioners will be having a training Day on 10th March and will cover a variety of topics and discussions.

The Rainbows are 25th this year so keep a look out on Patric for something happening just for them.

The Guides will be having an Outdoor Day in July 7th at Woodhouse Park more details on Patric to come out in March.

We have a new County Brownie Adviser – Mrs Judith Yeaman – who is a very experienced Brownie Guider, and is on hand for any advice needed – email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We hope that some of you applied to go to ‘All the world’s a Stage’ in February at Filton College; this is going to be a great day with lots of activities for the girls to do with the theatre.

Bath Division - “Together we can change the world” PDF Print E-mail

Girls from Bath Division went for a weekend in the New Forest. The weekend, which was aimed at girls in school years 5, 6 and 7, proved so popular that it was run in November and again in January!

The venue was Foxlease, and the focus was the WAGGGS Global Action Theme “together we can change the world” badge so the weekend had an international flavour.

Bath NW - Autumn outdoor day PDF Print E-mail

Bath North West District held an Autumn themed Outdoor day at Briarlands in September. Guides, Brownies and Rainbows attended and got to try out a bit of outdoor cooking -  they made pitta pizzas and smores. They also got to build a bridge with the Oxfordshire Pioneering Team - (being tested out by Alice - Pease Senior Section), they made catapults and then had wet tea bag battles against each other.

It was the first time we had tried an event like this and we've had excellent feedback, so we may try and make it a regular thing.

Yatton Guides' "Pirates & Poppies" PDF Print E-mail

3rd & 1st Yatton Guides held a November "Pirates & Poppies" weekend at Somermead.

Friday night started with a candle lit rope trail, On the Saturday Guides enjoyed a day of Pirate themed activities including a Pirates & Smugglers wide game, to "capture" food which they later cooked over "Driftwood"for lunch!

Lady Pirate Teresa came in the evening to run a "Sea Shanty" campfire, complete with inflatable parrot(!).

On Sunday we had a Remberance Guides Own, led by our two BP Guides, complete with 2 minutes silence, which was very relevant and involved everyone. The sun shone & we had a picnic lunch on Sunday! A great weekend.
