Hello,
It's YeSS time! There are loads of great things coming up over the next few months for Senior Section members, from volunteering opportunities to trekking in Romania. We also have some useful resources coming out. Read on to find out more.

Charity Challenges trekking

Have you ever wanted to trek in Kilimanjaro’s shadow? Or maybe you fancy journeying across Romania’s Carpathian Mountains and spotting Dracula? Girlguiding UK has created two 2011 Charity Challenges which will allow you to take part in a life-changing challenge while raising money for our Centenary Fund. If you are 18 or over and are looking for a rewarding, challenging experience, click here to find out more.

Introduction to Training

Girlguiding UK is running ‘Introduction to Training’ taster weekends to enable members to develop their training skills. The course is open to anyone who enjoys sharing their knowledge and guiding enthusiasm. It is especially suitable for those interested in training adults in guiding. The sessions will take place at Waddow from 12 to 14 November 2010 and at Foxlease from 15 to 17 April 2011. Places are available at the subsidised rate of £30 and are limited. Volunteer for Girlguiding UK

Girlguiding UK often looks to our members to get involved in projects and committees – so you can have your say on the future of guiding! The skills and experience you’ll develop will look great on a CV too. Keep an eye on the Senior Section news page to find out more. If you have your registration number, you can also access the members’ area of our website to check out volunteering opportunities.

New Queen's Guide resource

A new resource has been produced to outline the syllabus and benefits of the Queen’s Guide Award. It also provides answers to frequently asked questions and describes how you can get started on the Award. You can download the leaflet from the Senior Section website here.

Together We Can

A new activity resource called Together We Can is being released for all sections in early 2011. Based on the UN’s Millennium Development Goals, and supported by WAGGGS, it will give members the chance to take action – from eradicating extreme poverty to saving the planet! If you are interested in being updated on the resource or becoming a Together We Can ambassador in your area, why not join the mailing list?
