Guides have an exciting programme, just right for modern girls’ lifestyles. Being a Guide is about having fun, learning new skills, and making new friends. Guides often work in Patrols, which are small groups of four to eight girls who elect their own leader, and choose their own activities.
Guides have Go For It!s - special collections of activities on a theme, including Chocolate, Parties, Space, I Will Survive!, Football, Life Wise, With a Splash, Glamorama! and Five Senses. Each Go For It! completed earns a special Go For It! card.
Guides may go away on holiday, to camp, or for overnight sleepovers, and Guides can also work for a permit to go camping on their own. There are also badges for all kinds of activities and challenges.

Every year a Guide can earn a Challenge badge, showing they’ve taken a full part in the life of their unit.
The highest award for Guides is the Baden Powell BadenPowellChallengeChallenge, open to all Guides who have completed 2 Challenge badges. It gets girls to stretch themselves to be the best they can be, and includes a residential Baden Powell Challenge Adventure, which is often the highlight of a girl’s time in Guides.
Guides have their very own web site , with games, stories, advice, badges and competitions. |
