Girlguiding Somerset North has girls aged between 5 and 26, involved as Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members.

All girls may wear a uniform make their promise, and take part in our unique girl-lead programme of activities and personal development.

Who are the girls?

Rainbows

aged 5 to 7 . Their programme is called the Rainbow Jigsaw, and they choose activities where they ‘Look, Learn, Laugh, and Love’.

Brownies

aged 7-10 take part in fun activities indoors and out. It’s called the Brownie Adventure, and it’s filled with challenges, games and fun.

Guides

aged 10-14 have fun learning new skills, making new friends and helping other people. They choose their own activities and often work in small groups of 4-8 girls called Patrols.

Senior Section

aged 14-26 follow the Look Wider programme’s 8 ‘octants’ or areas - Creativity, Fit for Life, Community Action, Out-of-doors, International, Independent Living, Personal Values, and Leadership. The opportunities and challenges which it offers can be followed by a group or by individual members. The choice is made by the members themselves.
