The Queen's Guide Award is the top award available in Guiding, and is open to all Senior Section members aged 16-26. It has to be completed within 3 years of your start date, and you choose a mentor and supporters to help you with your challenges. The award includes Service in Guiding, a Residential Experience, an Outdoor Challenge (expedition or exploration), development of a Personal Skill and Community Action. You will find that a number of the challenges can combine nicely with the DofE Gold Award.
There are some links to the Girlguiding UK website for some of what you might need. If you have any questions, feel free to
, the County Queen’s Guide Adviser.
Getting started on the award
Once you have decided to start on your Queen's Guide Award, you will need to register using the S/QG form, which can be downloaded from this page. You'll need to complete this form with your mentor.
Once the form is completed, send three copies (and two SAEs) to your County Queen's Guide Coordinator, who will keep one on record, and send one each to your Country/Region office and CHQ.
You will also need to buy a record book from your local shop or from the Guiding Essentials online shop.
